Also a requirement of most MED marinas for privately owned and operated vessels to enter and berth
A practical and theory briefing provided to the experienced power or sail boat skipper in preparation for a three hour practical and theory exam. Can be achieved by any competent skipper with some revision followed by the demonstration of safe boat handling skills, routine safety disciplines and the ability to demonstrate good crew management. All very much the normal practices of good seamanship.
The ICC practical and theory assessment enables the experienced yachtsmen and power skipper to obtain an ICC.
Candidates are required to demonstrate competency in boat handling and have a working knowledge of tidal navigation, pilotage, safety routines and regulations. VHF radio operators certification is also required.

The fundamentals of how to conduct yourself safely and contribute to the safe handling of the boat, ropes and fenders. Basic boat handling and man overboard retrieval. Highly recommended for all active charter crew.
